What are my Consignment Options?
1. Sell the item through auction without a reserve price. You receive 65% of your sold item, less insertion fees.
You have a hunt coat, it's worth $65 or so but you just want to sell it to make room for new show clothes. The item is sent through auction with a reasonable starting price and no reserve. Bidders bid $60 dollars for the coat. What Winners Wear deducts 35% ($21) & an insertion fee ($3.00) after the item has been sold. You will receive the balance of the selling price after costs are taken out ($36.50). There is a possibility the coat sells for more than $60 depending on the size, brand and condition of the item.
2. Set a "reserve price" for the item. That means your item won't sell unless bidding reaches this minimum reserve price. Insertion fees are somewhat more for this option. You receive 65% of ending price of the item less insertion fees.
You have a hunt seat saddle worth $300 or so but you don't want to sell it for anything less than $250. You set a reserve price on the item of $250. Your saddle does not sell unless your reserve price is met. The saddle auctions for seven days. The final bid was $275. You receive 65% ($178.75) of the final bid, and a check less the insertion fee (of $4.00) is sent to you.
3. Set a stated starting auction price for the item as well as a "Buy it Now" option.
You have a pair of gently used ultrasuede chaps for which you'd like to receive $60 or so. We start the bidding at $95 and allow buyers to "Buy It Now" for $125. Someone may not want to take a chance on losing the auction, so they opt to pay the $125 and the auction ends. You receive 65% ($81.25) less insertion fees ($5.00).
If your items do not sell in the initial auction format, they will be automatically relisted in "ebay store inventory" at a fixed price format as well as in the mobile unit for 90 days.
Consignment Discounts Discounted commission rates (75% to the charitable group, 25% to What Winners Wear) will be given to:
